How to get there…

Just in case you need to directions, here they are:

From Sydney city, cross the Harbour Bridge or use the M1 Harbour Tunnel towards Newcastle.

Stay on the M1 motorway towards Epping and M2; DO NOT turn off towards A1 Newcastle.

Go through the M2 Lane Cove Tunnel.

Stay on the M2 for 17 km, towards Castle Hill.

Take the A28 PENNANT HILLS ROAD exit and turn right towards Castle Hill.

In 1.2 km take left turn onto CASTLE HILL ROAD, towards Castle Hill and Koala Park.

In 650m turn right at the lights into NEW LINE ROAD towards Dural.

After 6.2km this turns into OLD NORTHERN ROAD at a roundabout, and heads towards Wisemans Ferry.

Follow this road for 40km all the way to Wisemans Ferry, passing through Glenorie and Maroota.

After the steep hill down into Wisemans Ferry, turn sharp left and drive onto the free Webbs Creek Ferry across to St Albans Road. The ferry runs 24 hrs a day and takes about 5 mins.

(Note: If there is a long queue for this ferry there is another at the other end of Wisemans Ferry but most of the road on the other side –Settlers Road – is unsealed. This also leads to St Albans.)

Drive off the ferry and go straight on, staying on St Albans Road towards St Albans for 20 km. You will see a bridge on your right shortly after the St Albans sign. Cross the bridge and you will see the Festival marquees on your left.

(NOTE: Satellite navigation systems tend to avoid ferries so can lead you on a merry dance! Best put in Wisemans Ferry and then take it from there.)
