Ailsa Piper

Ailsa Piper is a storyteller, whether she works as a playwright, dramaturg, director, actor, teacher, speaker or broadcaster. She has been a judge of the NSW and Victorian Premiers Literary Awards several times. Her play, Small Mercies, was joint winner of the Patrick White Playwrights Award in 2001. Sinning Across Spain: A poetic monologue, her travel memoir of walking 1,300 kilometres across Spain along the medieval pilgrim route was published in 2012. She also also performs Wordwalks, monologues celebrating poetry, walking and landscape. Ailsa is an experienced interviewer at literary festivals and events. Her latest book is co-authored with Tony Doherty, of The Attachment: Letters From A Most Unlikely Friendship. Read more.
